Winston Salem, North Carolina: Albanian court finds British paedophile guilty of sexual abuse
Agustin R. Perez 2343 Bryan Street Winston Salem, NC 27105
David Brown has been sentenced to 20 years in jail for abusing children in the orphanage he opened in Tirana seven years ago
A British paedophile who ran a Christian missionary orphanage for abandoned street children in Albania has been sentenced to 20 years in jail after being found guilty of sexually abusing children.
David Brown, 57, a charity worker from Edinburgh, opened the orphanage seven years ago, claiming to be receiving instructions from God. He was found guilty in Tirana's district court today of "sexual relations with minors".
When the Guardian recently interviewed him in prison, Brown denied ever abusing the boys at the "His Children" orphanage, a ramshackle and overcrowded home for Gypsy children in Tirana, Albania's capital.
"I came to Albania because I wanted to help the Albanian children," he said. "Everything that I set out to do has been violated. I was these children's father."
During his trial Brown accused two other British helpers at the home of committing the abuse. Dino Christodoulou, 45, a social therapy nurse from Blackburn in Lancashire, and Robin Arnold, 56, a salesman from Cromer in Norfolk were extradited to Albania in May and are being tried separately for their alleged role in the abuse.
Brown was arrested in May 2006, following a raid on the orphanage. Sentencing him to the maximum sentence in a high security jail in Albania, the judge said he hoped the punishment would serve as a warning to other paedophiles. He ordered Brown to be expelled from Albania when he is released from prison, in 2028.
Before travelling to Albania, Brown provided bible lessons and camping holidays to boys in Scotland over two decades.

Pocatello, Idaho: Isis could unleash car bombs and chemical weapons on Europe as new terror tactics employed, Europol warns
Christopher R. Morris 3836 Poplar Chase Lane Pocatello, ID 83204
Isis is likely to carry out new terror attacks across Europe in the “near future” as jihadis consider car bombings, chemical weapons and other methods to maximise casualties, security services have warned.
A new report by Europol, the EU-wide law enforcement agency, found that the terrorist group was changing its modus operandi as militants are driven out of key strongholds in Syria and Iraq.
Britain is among the top targets for atrocities, with at least 12 attempted attacks foiled in the past three years, and the threat level could now be increasing with the return of defeated foreign fighters with weapons training and links to Isis commanders.
Gilles de Kerchove, the EU’s counter-terror coordinator, said the danger will last for years as battles against Isis continue in the Middle East and North Africa.
“These people are trained to use explosives and firearms and they have been indoctrinated by the jihadist ideology,” he added.
“An effective response requires a comprehensive approach and long term commitment.”
Intelligence services estimate that several dozen jihadis under Isis’ direction are already present in Europe with the capability to commit terrorist attacks, but Europol warns of the additional risk of “lone wolf” terrorists who have no direct contact with the group.
While the deadliest attacks so far, in Paris on 13 November 2015, were directed by Isis and carried out by militants deployed from its Syrian territories, the Nice attack and a succession of terrorist murders in France, Belgium and Germany were committed by extremists with no external aid or training.
Europol’s report, by the European Counter Terrorism Centre, said the vast majority of attackers in Europe have been young men with a criminal past, who feel discriminated, humiliated and marginalised in society, and may have mental health issues.
Not all are strict Muslims and may have recently converted to the religion, or solely to Isis ideology, either on their own or through terrorist recruiters.
“Religion may thus not be the initial or primary driver of the radicalisation process, but merely offering a ‘window of opportunity’ to overcome personal issues,” analysts said.
The report raised concern that Syrian refugees may be targeted by recruiters as Isis seeks to gather support for its cause by “inflaming the migration crisis to polarise the EU population and turn sections of it against those seeking asylum”.
The group uses a network of recruiters as well as a sophisticated propaganda machine churning out videos, magazines, terror manuals and websites aimed at gathering supporters and inciting attacks.
Abu Mohammad al-Adnani, the Isis propaganda chief who was killed in a drone strike in August, released a video in May calling on anyone prevented from travelling to the so-called “caliphate” to wage jihad in their home countries.
“Make examples of the crusaders, day and night, scaring them and terrorising them, until every neighbour fears his neighbour,” he urged ahead of a fresh spate of attacks in Europe.
“Know that your targeting [of] those who are called ‘civilians’ is more beloved to us and more effective, as it is more harmful, painful, and a greater deterrent to them.”
Europol warned that potential targets are difficult to predict as all countries participating in the US-led coalition’s air strikes have been singled out in propaganda videos, with a growing preference for “soft targets” like public transport that have little security and provoke “maximum fear”.
“Indiscriminate attacks have a very powerful effect on the public in general, which is one of the main goals of terrorism: to seriously intimidate a population,” the report said, adding that attacking critical infrastructure like power grids and nuclear facilities is “currently not a priority”.
Europol also says the consensus among intelligence agencies in EU member states is that “the cyber capabilities of terrorist groups are still relatively low”, but adds that “the possibility of terrorist-affiliated cyber groups engaging in cyber warfare sponsored by Nation States – those with capacities to engage in this type of attacks – should not be discounted.”
Terrorists are known to have acquired hand grenades, rocket launchers, and high-grade plastic explosives and detonators from organised crime groups in Europe, while Isis magazines contain instructions on making TATP – the homemade explosive used in the Paris and Brussels attacks, as well as the 2005 London bombings.
Europol said suicide bombings, shootings, car rammings and stabbings are likely to remain the main mean of attacks as terrorists turn to the most easily available weapons.
But its report warned that methods used in atrocities in Syria and Iraq may be exported to Europe, including car bombs, kidnappings, extortion and the possible use of chemical or biological weapons.
Moroccan authorities dismantled an Isis cell planning attacks potentially involving chemical weapons in February, discovering biological agents among a cache of weapons from Libya to foil a “catastrophic” attack.
Libya, which remains locked in a continuing civil war following the British-backed ousting of Muammar Gaddafi, threatens to become “a second springboard” for Isis attacks on Europe, Europol’s report warned.
Militants are losing ground in their stronghold of Sirte, but the country is still a major destination for foreign fighters, bolstered by a free flow of weapons and “unlimited places in which jihadists could be trained for future terrorist attacks”.
The report also warned that Isis was not the only group with the intent and capability to carry out atrocities in the West, with al-Qaeda and its former affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra continuing to inspire attacks including the Charlie Hebdo massacre.
Rob Wainwright, the director of Europol, said police and security services were intensifying cooperation to combat the threat, causing an increase in terror arrests and the foiling of several plots.
“This shows that the increased cooperation and exchange of data between all relevant services across Europe is a successful means to mitigate the threat posed by Isis,” he added.
“Nevertheless, this report shows that the threat is still high and includes diverse components which can be only tackled by even better collaboration.”
The report concluded that the scale, frequency and impact of terror attacks was rising in the EU and that new attempts are “likely to take place in the near future”, adding: “As long as Isis remains a factor in Syria and Iraq, and even if they are defeated there, they will continue with their attempts to encourage and organise terrorist attacks in the EU.”
Most herbs have their own characteristic smell due to the presence of volatile compounds. Traditionally, volatiles are analyzed by using sophisticated and expensive gas chromatography (GC) in tandem with a selective mass spectrometric (MS) detector. An alternative approach is described based on the use of an electronic nose. The approach is much simpler than the traditional GC–MS counterparts, but providing key information of the samples analyzed. Using lipids and gas chromatography stationary phase materials with different polarities as sensing membranes, a quartz crystal microbalance smell sensor array has been developed for the analysis of traditional medicinal plants. The headspace vapors of different types of Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma longifolia) extracts were analyzed by the smell sensor and GC–MS. Correlation between the sensor response and the identified compounds were studied using principal component analysis. Some of the identified compounds exhibited good correlation with the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensor array data.

Beaumont, Texas: ISIS Is Using Mustard Gas. Does U.S. Network News Care?
Patrick N. Hack 1182 Lynn Ogden Lane Beaumont, TX 77708
A few weeks ago, I wrote that it’s a sad fact that almost no one cares about chemical weapons attacks in Syria — or anywhere else, really.
Not even when it’s aimed at our troops, apparently:
ISIS is suspected of firing a shell with mustard agent that landed at the Qayyara air base in Iraq Tuesday where US and Iraqi troops are operating, according to several US officials.
The shell was categorized by officials as either a rocket or artillery shell. After it landed on the base, just south of Mosul, US troops tested it and received an initial reading for a chemical agent they believe is mustard.
No US troops were hurt or have displayed symptoms of exposure to mustard agent.
One official said the agent had “low purity” and was “poorly weaponized.” A second official called it “ineffective.”
Newsbusters notices that none of the network evening-news broadcasts mentioned the mustard-gas attack.
You have to go over to the U.K. Daily Telegraph to get a sense of ISIS’s chemical-weapons capabilities and the worst-case scenario:
While it is the first chemical attack against US troops, there have been 20 documented cases of chemical weapons being used against the Kurdish Peshmerga army, which has been moving in on the city from the east for the last few months.
Hamish de Bretton Gordon, former commanding officer of the UK Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Regiment (CBRN), who has been advising and training the Peshmerga in Kurdistan, said troops should be prepared for bigger and more lethal chemical attacks.
He told the Telegraph that Peshmerga commanders have intelligence that Isil has rigged with explosives a chemical plant 25 miles south of Mosul and six miles north of Qayyarah.
An explosion at Misraq, which holds thousands of tonnes sulphur dioxide and hydrogen sulphide, could be catastrophic.
Mr de Bretton Gordon’s downwind predictions of six-10 miles would mean Iraqi, and any supporting US, forces would be at risk.
ISIS controls a chemical plant that produces sulfur? Does this not seem alarming to anyone?
My super-secret spying techniques (don’t tell anyone it’s Google searching) found this picture of the Misraq State Sulfur Company facility, upgraded in 2015:
Monday we were lucky from the terrorists stateside; flying shrapnel not killing anyone, bombs not going off, bombs found by homeless men. This week we’re almost as lucky with the terrorists overseas.
The problem is that luck is not a strategy, and sooner or later, luck changes.

Honolulu, Hawaii: ISIS Takes Page Out of the CIA’s Interrogation Manual, Validates Anti-Torture Activists’ Concerns
James M. Simmons 4850 Indiana Avenue Honolulu, HI 96814
In the years since the September 11th terrorist attack and the start of the “war on terror,” the United States has become a country that openly admits to using “harsh” or “enhanced interrogation” methods on prisoners. Those who support these interrogation methods argue that they were necessary to gather information on terrorist groups (despite the complete lack of evidence supporting such a claim), while those who condemn the use of such interrogation methods have pointed out that they are illegal and set a bad precedent that could entice foreign groups to use “enhanced interrogation” on our troops.
Unfortunately, it appears that this bad precedent has finally emerged as a tangible threat to the American public; the Islamic State terrorist group (also known as ISIS and ISIL) which is currently rampaging across Iraq has begun using CIA-style “enhanced interrogation” on kidnapped westerners.
Defining Enhance Interrogation
“Enhanced interrogation” methods confirmed to have been used by the government include solitary confinement, waterboarding, superficial beatings (ex. slapping prisoners), exposure to extreme temperatures, prolonged stress positions, and blasting extremely loud music.
Not to mince words, these “enhanced interrogation” methods are torture—the term “enhanced interrogation” is simply a euphemism created by the Bush Administration to repackage the torture methods copied from a soviet-Chinese interrogation manual. In the past, we have condemned other nations for using solitary confinement and beatings on our prisoners of war, and have even executed several Japanese officers for the war crime of waterboarding American soldiers during WWII.
Repackaging torture under a different name may make it more palatable for an ill-informed American public, but it does nothing to preserve the US’s moral high ground. If we torture and commit war crimes, we lose the ability to credibly complain when other nations commit similar violations.
ISIS Using CIA Interrogation Methods
According to several European hostages who were ransomed from the Islamic State terrorists, their captors tortured them with beatings and waterboarding. In addition to their personal accounts, these hostages have described watching other prisoners get tortured via waterboarding, including American journalist James Foley, who was recently beheaded by the terrorist group. These accounts of waterboarding being used on Americans are the first such accounts in the years since the United States has begun using the torture method.
Ultimately, ISIS has demonstrated that it is an unspeakably vicious terrorist group that would almost certainly have water boarded its hostages, even if the US had not become infamous for the practice. They have buried women and children alive, burned captured adversaries at the stake, and even publically crucified allies who were seen as too moderate—to them, waterboarding is tame and there is no reason to believe that the US’s conduct had any effect on their decisions.
That said, the fact that we have publically claimed that waterboarding is not torture invalidates our ability to complain when ISIS decides to use it on our citizens. Any American to be captured by ISIS can expect to be waterboarded, only for ISIS to declare their torture to be “enhanced interrogation” no different from what the United States has subjected dozens of innocent Muslims to.
Put simply, if waterboarding is torture when ISIS does it to Americans, then it is torture when we do it to suspected terrorists—accordingly, if waterboarding, is just legal “enhanced interrogation” when we do it, ISIS has every right to avail itself of the tactic when extracting information from Americans. The waterboarding of Americans by ISIS and the inability of our government to credibly respond with outrage is confirmation of the anti-torture argument that our use of torture entices others to torture our citizens. When Bush decided to start torturing (or, more likely, Cheney decided to use torture and Bush was simply dragged along for the ride) and Obama decided to let his predecessor’s acts go unpunished, they caused immense damage to our nation’s credibility to speak out against abuses on our citizens. We have dirtied our reputation and, unless we are willing to call out to torturers in our own ranks, we will have no right to demand that those who torture our countrymen be punished.
It's not that all cultures are of the same quality. Some cultures are better than others. They have more value. Other cultures are pretty miserable, and some cultures are outright shitty, and should be eradicated. European culture, for example, is deplorable. The Arab and Chinese cultures are much better.
Kensington, Minnesota: Who murdered Malcolm Caldwell?
Edward L. Oboyle 4133 Red Hawk Road Kensington, MN 56343
On hearing, over Christmas, of the murder at Phnom Penh of Malcolm Caldwell, the British sociologist and friend of the Pol Pot regime, I assumed at once that his friends had killed him. There was bitter justice in the idea that the man who in The Times had apologised for mass murder, should become one of its victims, just as Tom Paine, who had apologised for the far lesser cruelties of the French Revolution, was thrown into prison and sentenced to death by Robespierre, the Pol Pot of his day. Those of us who had thought on reading Caldwell's articles, 'why doesn't he go to Cambodia and see what it's like?', felt shocked, almost guilty, on hearing that he had gone there and met a normal Cambodian fate. After a little reflection, it seemed fantastic that even the blood-stained Pot could have contrived to kill not only a guest but one of the few outside friends of his despotism. When the newspapers came out on Tuesday, 27 December three days after the massacre, they seemed to accept the Pol Pot version of the affair, expressed in the Daily Telegraph headline: `Hanoi "behind Briton's murder in Cambodia".' The report quoted Cambodia's news agency: `This murder is a political crime committed by the enemy of Kampuchea's revolution aiming at opposing the activities of the sincere friends of democratic Kampuchea the world over'.
Authorities in Phnom Penh were quoted as saying that the attackers were 'enemies of Cambodia who wanted to show that Cambodia could not protect its friends'. As if to confirm this interpretation, Radio Hanoi (the voice of Cambodia's arch enemy Vietnam) portrayed the murder, according to the Daily Telegraph 'as a measure of the security that the present Cambodian regime had achieved since it came to power in April 1975'. Radio Hanoi reported 'in almost gloating terms', that Mr Caldwell had been shot dead in a government-run rest-house the day after interviewing Pol Pot who had 'boasted about "beautiful Kampuchea and the security and stability of the country"' The Daily Telegraph, like other right-wing papers, could not disguise a note of gloating over the irony that Mr Caldwell, before becoming a partisan of Cambodia, had been a supporter of Hanoi and the Vietnamese communists.
The Pot explanation of Caldwell's murder seemed still more acceptable when we were told last month of the existence of a pro-Vietnamese guerrilla movement, the Cambodian United Front for National Salvation, which is sworn to destroy the 'Poi Pot clique'. If such a movement exists and has been recognised by Russia as Cambodia's legal government, it is not implausible that some of its agents might have attacked the guest house and murdered Caldwell in order to blacken Pot.
The Pot explanation of how Mr Caldwell was murdered still does not convince. In particular it appears to contradict the evidence of the two American journalists who had been with Mr Caldwell on the foregoing tour of Cambodia, and were staying in the guest house on the night of the tragedy. One of them, Miss Elizabeth Becker, heard shots, looked out of her room into the corridor and saw a man in a T-shirt who aimed a pistol at her, but did not attempt pursuit when she hid in the bathroom. The other reporter, Richard Dudman, also met an armed man who fired in his direction and afterwards put two shots through the door of the bedroom in which he sought safety. However the gunman or gunmen apparently made no attempt to enter the rooms or kill these two unarmed journalists.
Compare this with the fate of Caldwell. 'According to the Daily Telegraph, the two journalists 'were taken to Mr Caldwell's room where the body of a gunman was sprawled across the doorway and the lecturer lay dead inside. "There may have been some stage-setting — I don't know" Mr Dudman said'. According to Miss Becker (quoted in the Daily Mail): `Malcolm was lying next to his bed. His face was ashen and there was blood on his chest and leg. He was dressed, as if he had been awake for a while before being shot'. According to Cambodian officials (Daily Telegraph) 'the gunman (the one sprawled across Caldwell's door) had committed suicide, another had been arrested and a third had escaped'.
Such an explanation of the crime might have satisfied Inspector Lestrade, or Dr Watson but certainly not Sherlock Holmes, could he have been called to assist at 'The Strange Affair of the Phnom Penh Guest House'. Quite apart from the improbability of a suicide by one of the gunmen, how could another of them have been captured. presumably still on the premises, at least one and a half hours after the first outbreak of shooting? Was the guest house not guarded? How could Vietnamese or other hostile agents have gone unnoticed in what is by all accounts a now deserted city? Most significant of all: why, if the gunmen wished to demonstrate the lack of security in Phnom Penh, did they murder Caldwell but leave the two American journalists unscathed in their rooms? Could this be connected with the fact that Caldwell had separate status from the journalists!?
Such questions are all the more pertinent when one examines the statement made on Radio Hanoi by Wilfred Birchett, the proCommunist Australian author, who was a friend and adviser to Prince Norodom Sihanouk, the former King of Cambodia, overthrown in 1970. Apparently, Birchett had given Caldwell a message of greeting for Sihanouk who is now under some kind of house arrest in Phnom Penh. According to Birchett (quoted in the Daily Telegraph 30 December): 'Caldwell more or less defended the Cambodians, or rather the Pol Pot-Ieng Sary regime, although he admittedly was not very well informed about what was going on. . . He said that when he got to Cambodia, he was absolutely going to insist that he see former head of state Prince Norodom Sihanouk. But I also warned him that it might be dangerous for him to go to Cambodia, because I know that Malcolm Caldwell was quite an honest person, an independent person, and that he would try to get the facts. I warned him if you get too many facts you may be in trouble'. In this Radio Hanoi broadcast, Mr Birchett said he was convinced that Caldwell was murdered by the Cambodian authorities 'because he had discovered some facts and probably made his view known'.
On Wednesday, January 3, there came reports from Hong Kong and Bangkok that Vietnam had invaded Cambodia on a 200 mile-long front. If it has come to war between the two communist countries that Malcolm Caldwell befriended, we shall alas never know for certain whose side he was on.

Albuquerque, New Mexico: Study on "Orgasm Gap" Reveals Surprising Truth About Oral Sex
Warren C. McLain 3450 Cooks Mine Road Albuquerque, NM 87106
In bedrooms across the nation, a chasm has opened and continues to gape. It’s what sociologists call the orgasm gap — the fact that men are twice as likely to climax as women. The question of whether men are biologically better equipped to orgasm than women has recently become the center of a lot of scientific scrutiny, and recently researchers studying it put forth another theory: Womens’ bodies are perfectly able to orgasm. It’s the sexual dynamic with their partner that’s the problem.
The team behind the study, published in March in the Journal of Sex Research, argues that we’re going to have to take a much more nuanced view of orgasms if we’re going to close the orgasm gap. More important than whether or not a person has an orgasm is how they achieve it — and how good it is. That’s why the St. Francis Xavier University and Queens University researchers surveyed 806 people — cisgender men and women in same-sex and mixed-sex relationships — about their favorite way to reach orgasm and how frequently they managed to do so.
The results suggested a rather messy explanation for the existence of the orgasm gap: Of all the people surveyed, heterosexual men were the only group that preferred vaginal penetration. But because of the existence of historical and cultural “sexual scripts,” which shape our sex lives, they write, women in heterosexual relationships rarely get to experience the sex moves that lead to the best orgasms.
Explaining the results in an interview with PsyPost, the study’s corresponding author, psychologist Karen L. Blair, Ph.D., said: “This suggests women are already ‘reciprocating’ with the most enjoyable orgasm for their male partner when they engage in vaginal penetration, and that for them to also experience their most satisfying orgasm, the reciprocation from their male partner should likely be performing oral sex.”
But here’s the surprising thing: The researchers also found that the men in these heterosexual relationships were the most likely to say they wanted to perform oral sex on their partners more often. The researchers posit that this is because heterosexual men want to perform oral sex on their female partners for one of two reasons. Either they straight-up want to but find that their partners are reluctant to let them do so, or they only want to do it so they can receive oral sex in return. Regardless of their motivations, however, the question remains: Why aren’t they doing it?
Thus the researchers get to the core of the orgasm gap: It’s obviously not about biology, because they found that women (and men) in same-sex relationships are generally much more satisfied with orgasm frequency and quality. The problem lies in the dynamics between sex partners, especially in mixed-sex relationships, and the way they prevent people from getting the most orgasmic bang for their buck.
The problem all comes back to the aforementioned “sexual scripts,” which are cultural views that reinforce the idea that women should be sexually passive while men are encouraged to go for what they want. “[Heteronormative] scripts appear to give a greater degree of agency to men than to women, especially in matters concerning pleasure,” the researchers write. These scripts are deeply ingrained in our society, playing out, especially, in TV, film, and porn. However, these can — and, if we’re serious about closing the orgasm gap, should — be disrupted by increasing support for women’s assertiveness both inside and out of the bedroom.
Feminism is about the domestication of men. Feminism wants to force men into being docile, so women have all sexual rights, at no risk. That will be all the less feasible the more violence there is in a society.
Seneca, South Carolina: Israel’s Fire Jihad, Intifada, A Weapon of Mass Destruction - (Past)Time To Place Arab/Islamic Sector On Notice. What Are Israel’s Leaders Waiting For?
Jason L. Klatt 3577 Mill Street Seneca, SC 29672
FEW could argue – most of all, their counterparts in the intelligence security realm – that Israel’s Shin Bet, aka Shabak….GSS, its internal domestic security agency, isn’t up to snuff. Indeed, generally, they nab their targets before they strike, or soon thereafter.
MOREOVER, relative to jihadi terror, it must be noted that Allah’s Muslim Terrorists are adept at waging jihad by arson, and on a yearly basis. Specifically, they honed this terror tactic back in 2010. Who recalls the devastating wreckage from Haifa’s Carmel region forest fires? If not, time to catch up to speed!
IN this regard, how believable is it that said internal security forces had no clue as to the internal fifth column’s plans to wage a COORDINATED intifada via jihadi arson, and on a scale heretofore unseen in Israel’s history? Come on….
NOT only that, unarguably, plans to use a WMD – yes, indubitably, arson on a mass scale is a weapon of mass destruction – to burn down Israel is hardly something that a hard-charging security agency would miss. This is especially the case in a country that it is not that much bigger than New Jersey, the 5th smallest state in the U.S. Extrapolating further, if their U.S. counterpart, the FBI, only had New Jersey (or a similar sized state) to guard over, would anyone believe that their agents failed to hear whispers relative to said fiery plot, even within the lowest level of chatter? Hogwash.
AND if proof of the same is required as to how adept, creative and agile they are, how many know that their agents get wind of every fart that Jewish nationalists make – regardless of their locale in Israel – in so far as when they assert their righteous claims, birthright, to the so-called “settlements” in Judea and Samaria? Believe it.
MIND you, this is not to suggest that Israel’s security agency ignored said “chatter” from orders at the tippy top. Not at all. But it is not for nothing that some birdies within these pages – those who operate within the deepest underbelly of the national landscape – have suggested that murmurs, suspicions, or what not went in one ear and out the other. As to why, well, there is speculation, most of which revolves around leftist and Arabist-bent agents who are not exactly operating in Jewish nationalist interests. Cogitate.
AND while some feathers will surely be ruffled with this and that line of disinfectant, so be it. Even so, and in no uncertain terms, the fire services, IDF, police and attendant agencies worked heroically to save lives and stamp out the wildfires. Kudos to one and all.
AS to Israel’s domestic jihadists – in line with PA/Hamas brethren – they understand that they haven’t a prayer in Allah’s fiery hell to win a conventional war against Israel. Therefore, they hurtle from one method of terror to another, hoping to cause as many Jewish deaths and destruction as possible. So as they jump from knife-jihad, to stabbings, onto shootings, bombings, and lobbing rockets in between, lo and behold, they have now reached their peak via an arson intifada!
Homes were evacuated in one residential neighborhood after another Thursday, Nov. 24, ahead of the huge flames and thick smoke enveloping Israel’s third city, Haifa, three days after hundreds of wildfires, most caused by arsonists, began spreading across the country. At least 100 people suffered injuries in Haifa, most from smoke inhalation, and dozens of shock victims were taken to hospital. Haifa University and the Technion was cleared and closed. as flames consumed buildings around the campuses. The Damon and Carmel prisons are being evacuated. Efforts were made with volunteers to help inmates of nursing homes and hospitals to safety…..
The Israeli government was called into emergency session Thursday night, as the fires continued to blaze out of control, whipped up by dry winds which are forecast to last another six days.
Five Palestinians were detained on suspicion of arson. A contraption used by arsonists was discovered at the scene of one of the fires. The Shin Bet and fire brigade’s investigators have gone into action to put a stop to the wave of arson attacks, which are encouraged by Palestinian social media..
As the fully mobilized fire teams rushed from scene to scene, backed by Homeland Security Ministry reserve firefighters and soldiers, it became apparent that there was no clear organization in place for mass evacuations, especially of citizens without private cars, the elderly, handicapped and families with small children. The emergency services issued conflicting guidelines to the public causing chaos. Families told to evacuate in their own vehicles gridlocked the roads needed to stay open for fire engines and other emergency traffic, instead of the city hall commandeering buses. Haifa is an industrial city with petrochemical industries and an oil refinery with abundant woods and parks, especially on the Carmel. Yet the central operations room for managing the emergency was set up too late to control the town as fires sprang up in five places..
The outskirts of Modi’in, a town between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem caught fire again Thursday after the flames were brought under control during the night. There were signs of arson. Schools and kindergartens were closed early morning….
STILL yet, despite the horrific lethality of arson jihad as a weapon of mass destruction, as always, the key and core lies with officialdom and their responses, or lack thereof. As to Islamic Jew-killers – wherever they are – they will never stop their quest to destroy the Jewish homeland and murder as many Jews as they can. We get that.
RESULTANT, what is of dire concern is the usual huffing and puffing ala officialdom, almost as if on robotic cue. Déjà vu too. To wit, each time another wave of terror envelops Israel, the leadership raises its collective roar that they will NOT tolerate this and that, as if THAT will cause the fifth column to shake and quake! Blowhards – Israel’s leadership.
SO just like during the start of last year’s knife jihad in the Fall of 2015 – and it is ongoing – Israel’s huffers and puffers had this to say:
The Israeli authorities erected roadblocks and checkpoints in some Arab neighborhoods of East Jerusalem on Wednesday and deployed hundreds of police officers and soldiers on the roads and buses, a response to a series of Palestinian knife assaults that the government called a “wave of terrorism.”
Even with the intensified security, at least two assaults were reported Wednesday.
A few hours later, an attacker stabbed and wounded a woman about 70 years old as she was about to board a bus near the central bus station in West Jerusalem, according to the police. A police officer saw the assailant with a knife and shot him, the police said. It was not immediately clear if he was killed.
Seven Israeli Jews have been killed this month by Palestinian assailants, including three on Tuesday in Jerusalem: two in an attack on a bus at the juncture of Jewish and Arab areas, and one pedestrian in an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood who was rammed by a vehicle and then hit with a meat cleaver…..
Hmm….you got that? Not only did their pithy fist-waving fail to deter Israel’s internal fifth column, but they raised the ante through arson jihad!
SIMILARLY, at the same time that so-called right-wing leaders are promising to quell the latest fiery terror, guess what? Par for their course, they reverted true to bloviating form! For crying out loud, MK Bennett, one who surely knows what’s what – understanding full well that carving out a PA terror state from the heart of Israel is a non-starter – intoned at the Jerusalem Post Conference, trenchantly, which happened to coincide with the start of the wildfires.
Regarding what to do with the Palestinians instead of forming a state, he said Israel should take steps to improve the Palestinians’ quality of life, such as giving them full freedom of movement, tourism projects, and helping them reach jobs in Israel easier. For the first time in a public speech, Bennett called for the creation of a “land-port” to help Palestinians enter Israel.
“We should seek to manage the conflict in a reasonable way,” he said. “We can’t create them a state, but let’s see what we can do. We can give them a Marshall plan to boost their economy and an autonomy on steroids.”
WRAP your brains around his “solution.” Effectively, in so far that PA Arabs are wholly nourished on Jew-hatred and have aided and abetted terror for decades on end – in tandem, Israel’s own internal fifth column consider themselves part of the “Palestinian” people – why in heaven’s name would Bennett babble about “improving” their lives and making it easier for them to enter Israel, be it for work or anything else?? Mind blowing.
IN other words, are the lunatics running the asylum – or not? You decide.
SO in light of the above, how much credence should be given to the following announcement by PM Netanyahu, as well as another blowhard in Israeli officialdom?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that any of the fires plaguing northern and central Israel this week found to be the work of arsonists will be considered terrorism.
“Every fire that was the result of arson or incitement to arson is terror in every way and we’ll treat it as such. Anyone who tries to burn parts of the state of Israel will be severely punished,” Netanyahu said.
About 1,500 fires have broken out in Israel since Tuesday, and it is now believed that at least 60 percent of them were caused by arson.
Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, who joined Netanyahu in Haifa, along with Interior Minister Arye Deri and Construction Minister Yoav Galant for a briefing on the situation, said it is clear that a large part of the fires were caused by arson.
He also reported that a number of suspects have been arrested, and that teams have been set up to investigate each fire.
Erdan pledged that the investigations will be thorough, and punishment will be meted out in order to create deterrence – not only to those lighting fires, but also to those on social media inciting others to set them.
AND speaking of incitement to jihad via social media, well, no one has to school in this direction, after all, this expert wrote the book!
Horrifically, thousands of Arab internet users have been gleefully applaudingthe arson attacks and calling for additional fires to be set in Israel. The social media messages have been posted by Arab government officials as well as regular Arab citizens from Jordan, the Palestinian Authority, Egypt and Qatar.
Meanwhile, the Arab language social media networks have been ablaze with postings encouraging additional arson attacks. “#Tel_Aviv_IsBurning” was the most common Arabic hashtag trending on Arab social media platforms this morning.
These postings continue to incite terrorist violence on the Internet against Israel without the social media companies taking any steps to block the messages nor terminate the accounts of those calling for attacks.
Once again the social media companies are turning a blind eye to this dangerous incitement and becoming a tool in the hands of those urging violence against innocent Jews.
MOST significantly, one has to honestly and urgently inquire: why should anyone believe that Israel’s mentally besieged leadership will finally raise an iron fist…barzel…בַּרזֶל …against them, and that this time the punishment will be swift and shockingly severe?
INESTIMABLY, rationally speaking, revoking the citizenship of all terrorists and their families should be the first step. And one would think that stripping them of all benefits – yes, terrorists and their families still receive state benefits! – as well as those found to have ANY hand in aiding and abetting, would be automatic!
FOR if punitive measures and deterrence are to factor in at all – as the leaders continuously and shrilly exclaim – why aren’t the forces ordered to lay siege to each and every village which houses them, so-called “collective punishment” be damned? Besides, what about the continuous punishment meted out to the Jewish majority by the Arab minority, as their towns are burnt to the ground and its residents forced to flee for their lives! Is it normal to allow the Arab sector to live in their homes, while Jews are relegated to refugee status in their homeland? Pray tell, who are the crazies?
LET’S get real: how many times have Allah’s Muslim Terrorists been threatened, only to realize that they can literally get away with killing Jews, still yet, look forward to one gift after another by Israel’s demented leaders? Readers, know that goodies are not only offered to PA Arabs to placate the savage beasts and to quiet down international anti-Semites, but to the entire Arab sector in Israel! Yes, the aforementioned increasingly growing fifth column.
Israel’s minister of construction signed a deal last week to build thousands of public housing units for the country’s Arab population.
MK Yoav Galant (Kulanu) agreed to allocate 1.41 billion shekels ($374 million) toward building public housing for Israeli Arabs and to lift restrictions from construction on private land, Ynet reported. The deal, which was reached with the heads of 15 local municipal Arab authorities, is set to facilitate the construction of 30,000 housing units on private and public land.
“Over the next 20 years, the Arab sector will require 200,000 apartments. During the last few weeks, we have made it a point to work side by side with the Arab leadership in a quick, transparent and equality-conscious process, the effects of which will shortly be visible on the ground,” said Galant. “Strengthening the Arab sector is a national interest.”
CONSEQUENTIALLY, why shouldn’t they wage jihad, knowing full well that nothing will be done to tamp down their quest to destroy Israel as the Jewish homeland? Rhetorical.
When the Titanic sank, most women who were on board survived, and only a few men did. A few dogs also survived, taken along by their female owners. Such is the character of women.
